What this chapter is about
Everything around us occupies space and has three dimensions — length, breadth, and height. Books, balls, cones, cylinders, and buildings are all three-dimensional (3-D) objects called solid shapes. In contrast, figures drawn on paper — circles, triangles, squares — are two-dimensional (2-D) plane figures. This chapter develops the ability to visualise, describe, and analyse 3-D shapes, understand their structure, and relate them to their 2-D representations.
